Preface
Literature broadens our ideas by transporting us into the thoughts of others. Literature provides a window into the lives of others. It enables us to dismantle the barriers of our culture, identity, and personal history. It puts us in close contact with people, allowing us to view all the horror, honor, and awe that lurk in the human experience. This is a compendium of my thoughts and musings about literature. I am a nineteen-year-old girl who loves literature as I love my life. Literature means a lot for me as it taught me the purpose and the value of life. In addition, I give my own quotation of literature. Included in this compendium is my favorite poem, Shakespeare’s “Sonnet 116. Specifically, “Sonnet 116 inspires me about what love is, what true love is, and how the never changing nature of love transcends through time. I, like everyone else, is craving for the love that is unchanging and timeless despite the circumstances, like one described in the poem. Essentially, literature broaden our minds in all aspects of life and makes us more creative in thinking, in the same way it does to me.
